The whole concepts of faking it till you make it simply does not work.

Here are somethings you can not fake no matter what.

1. We can not fake who you are.  No matter how much you want to be something you are not, you can not fake personality, or character.  We can grow and learn with Gods help. Which is not the same thing as faking it.
2. We can not fake inspiration.  To be inspired takes something deep, spiritual, connected and we can not want to be inspired any more than a bird can want to be cat and become it.
3. We can not fake motivation.   Motivation is very personal, what motivates one person will not motivate everyone.   You can not fake being excited,motivated.  When someone is motivated there will be more than words, there will be action.
4. We can not fake momentum.   I have heard of momentum lots pre-momentum.  Momentum is not staying still or growing slowly.  Momentum when it happens is as easy to spot as an eagle.  It glides and is thrilling. But the average person will never see it.  I love being a part of momentum.  its fun exciting , and well blows all other theories out of the water.
5. We can not fake results.   Results are found when action is taken for a long enough period which if done right will create momentum.  But creating a fake momentum will only bring a company that is growing steadily to a stopping point.

Faking it, will not help you create the long term results that you want. 

Starting a business is a process and creating a serious business takes time energy, money, skills and character.   Its simple faking it till you make it does not work.

Lots of people and businesses try to act like things are one way, when its simple they are not. Showing something that is not real, will never get you where you want or need to be. Faking it hurts you, much worse than you can ever imagine, because you know the truth. One of the most important things we can do, is to tell ourselves the truth. When we are faking it  to the world, we first have to fake it to ourselves.

Their is a difference in having faith and faking it!

It is important to know what things will stop your current momentum that you are building, be on the look out for these and how they will effect your life and business.

• Fear – Fear can be the number one stopping point in you building a strong business. Now while everyone has fear. How you handle that fear will be the difference in success and failure.
• Laziness – To build a long term income, it will take serious work. In fact takes more energy and focus it takes to launch something vs maintaining it. Creating a serious work effort now, will not only be worth it but is the difference in you creating the business of your dreams or your nightmares.
• Not persevering – endurance is the one thing you can not pretend to have. It takes personal growth to achieve, you must have endurance to over come those things that will take down other people. It is true, to quit is to lose.
• Lack of Focus – focus is important, but even more than focus is knowing what to focus on. If you focus on the wrong things, nothing will change, and you will stay exactly where you are.
• Not taking responsibility – Stop blaming, which looks to the past, and start taking responsibility in what you have done and are doing. It will completely change the way you see life.
• Working with the wrong people – you have opportunity to work with OK people or great people,be particular no matter if you are choosing team members who you will work with, or finding a team to join. It can make the difference in a 4 and 7 figure income.
• Looking at the past – its time to change what you do right now today, quit looking in the past, and start moving towards the future. Create the dream sheet you want to shoot for and get to work.
• Lack of purpose – What is your why? Why are you doing this? It has to be bigger than the money, bigger than the product it has to be about something that is bigger! Keep that why in front of you all the time.
• Discontentment – Yes you are working on creating a better life, but that does not mean be to discontent with the life you have, being ungrateful will only create more of what is going on now.
• Wrong expectations– look for the good things to happen, what you expect has a much higher change of happening.

• Start off with a spread sheet or paper where you can keep track of your results
• Remember not all companies are for all people, and not everyone is looking for a way to make money from home.
• I would never try to completely evaluate a company from the outside in, but do it the other way around.

Why Mondays are my favorite days?

I’m sure that you have a favorite day, but do you know what it is? I know what mine is, my absolutely positively favorite day is Monday. But out of all the Mondays I love the first Monday of the month! Do you know why? I love to start over! I love to restart another month with new vigorous goals activity and results.

Monday is not truly the first day of the week, that would be Sunday.  But Monday is the first day of my work week.  Waking up on a  Monday after a great sleep brings me more to life.  I love waking up, looking at what I have achieved and what I can do to do better.

To me spring its self is the best time of the year. In Texas spring is amazing, the new growth that takes place. Its green and warm,There are even those amazing bluebonnets.  I love bluebonnets.  I could have this weather all year long, around 80 and easy to keep moving and off the computer.  Today is spring, its the first Monday of the month and all things are right with the world!

What an amazing day to be alive!

How will a great Monday will help me create the results I want through out the entire month.

I operate almost like Monday ( which officially is not the first day of the week, Sunday is) But I treat it as if it were a mini new years.

Here are my top things to do on a Monday  to create the best results through out the week month and year.

1. Every Monday I wake up and get organized, clean up things around you like your computer desktop, your desk any work area that is driving you crazy. Make sure to get rid of the things that distract you from what you should be doing.
2.  Rethink the goals! Go over what you set last Monday and what your results are. Its then time to see if am I on the right path and need to re-promise an activity goal, or reevalutate that activity goal. I look at my numbers and see what I need to improve on and what I need to STOP!

3. Set new productivity and activity goals for this week and month. This is where my Monday is crucial to my success. I always take in consideration what I did in #2 and look at if I need to re-promise a goal or rethink it or increase that goal. Remember in your goals, give yourself a gain, In other words if you are going to increase your business by 10 new customers. What are you going to do for yourself when you get that done?

4. Get to work! Monday is only one day of the week, it really matters what you do on Tuesday and beyond that will make this plan work.  The one thing I find in all industries, is that we can set goals great, but getting to work is the one thing that does not happen. The goals we really want to accomplish will be the ones we get to work on.

 Tools you need to create a great Monday each and every week

To set goals there are systems that you can use to create great goals. For my schedule, I always use Google calendar, I can share my schedule or portions with others that I work with. To track my goals. I use two systems. I use a spreadsheet to set up my goals. If you do not have office this is a free version that does almost everything the paid version does. I also use an app for my phone.

How to write a blog.

So, do you really know what it takes to write a blog?

Blogs are everywhere, blogging is almost a subculture.  But there is a difference in having one that is successful and one that is unknown.  But most people do not know the difference and are not willing to do the work to create the traffic.  You are looking for a way that you can write a blog.  I have no idea why you are looking to do this or even if you have the skills, but I know that you can learn to write a blog. It does not matter what your skills are today if you are willing to learn.  The one thing that will help you write a blog that is successful is desire.

Some people write just because they love to write, and then others have an agenda. I personally love to connect with people. I believe we were put on the big ball of dirt by our creator to have honest authentic relationships with each other.

What tools and skills it takes to write a blog.

Blogging is not for everyone.  I am asked all the time what it takes to write a blog.  In fact my youngest daughter has been asking me to help her write a blog for a long time, so we finally got it put together this week.  Now It will take her just like it will take you certain actions to keep her blog up and make it the blog she wants it to be.  But this is not about her blog this about your blog and if you are going to write a blog, or if you are going to give up your dream.

Things that you need to think about before you decide to write a blog.

1. Why are you looking to write a blog. what is your objective?

2. How much time are you willing to put into you blog?

3. Are you going to host your blog or do you want a way to blog for free?

4.  Do you want to make money with you blog or is it for a personal reason?

5. Is this blog for a existing business?

6. Are you looking to expand your social media?

7. Do you need to increase your skills?  How techie are you?  Would you know how to use html?

Looking at blogging from an objective point of view.  Should I really write a blog?

You have answered the questions above, or I hope you have.  You have a view on what you are getting ready to do.

Plans are only 10% of success.  If you decide to write a blog you will need to follow up on your plans and understand what it takes to be successful.

You will need to increase your skills no matter what your skills are today, you will need to have a team of people who can help you.

You will need to know why you willing to put the time energy and expense into this activity, and what you are wanting achieve. Are you building a business, educating others on a subject, finding a niche of people who love to do a sport. Only you can know what your goal is. Create a document with this information in it, one you can edit from time to time.

It will be important to set a schedule and commitment on how often you will blog. Blogging is fun, and writing your thoughts out at least for me, well its inspirational. But everyone gets busy and most blogs in the world , have a few posts and then they are never touched again. To not be just another failed blog, you need to know when where and how often you are going to write.  That is if you really want to write a blog.

There are many tools you will need to help your blog be seen.  Increasing that knowledge is imperative to long term success. Social media will be important as well as offline marketing.

We often talk about this mysterious subject, how to duplicate. When we duplicate its really when a business takes off. But its not a for sure thing that will happen. I have been asked how to duplicate. How to look for duplication? How to create duplication. So I thought I would give you the dirty on this subject and how I see it.

Duplication is the action that happens when one or more of your team members does what you do, and in so doing expands their own personal business. They are doing what most experts would call duplication. To duplicate you must know what you are too do and then also you need to know what not to do. There are specific laws to abide called the laws of duplication.

To duplicate is wild and crazy and will rock your world when it happens. But do you know how to duplicate?

But its not mysterious. But to create regular daily duplication you must have the skill, persistence,determination to start. But its something you can do. People just like you and me can do it all the time, but just because we can does not mean we will. But still do you know how to duplicate?

How to do duplicate – Understanding the laws of duplication

Understanding the laws of duplication will change the way most of us do business in the marketplace today. Duplication does not only happen in one business model. This a little known fact that the laws of duplication can and do take place in other industries that never even speak of it.  This is how to duplicate, or how to start duplicating. Understanding the laws of duplication will always teach us how to duplicate.

1. To duplicate you need to start with a generous heart.

Duplication starts with a heart that is not selfish. In the Bible its says in Galatians 6:7-8 “Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others-ignoring God! -harvests a crop of weeds. When you plant orange seeds oranges grow and come to harvest. What are you planting today? Do you care about the people around you?Are you willing to give more than is required of you? Is business simply another way to manipulate others around you?

2. To duplicate you must be all about relationships.

People do not care what you know till they know that you care. To have a consistent amount of duplication in your business you must make who you are the person who show you are.  It can not be fake and it can not be all about you and the money.  To learn how to create authentic relationships will also teach us how to duplicate.

3.Keep it simple and systematic ,in order to duplicate.

Don’t do what works, do what duplicates! I would ask these questions. Are you making things more difficult than you need to?  If you asked your daughter or son to do what you are trying to do, could they?  Do you need a specialized degree to do what you are doing?  Remember  keep things very doable,it will help you duplicate and help your team duplicate as well. Do you really want to be able to teach your team how to duplicate?

4. To duplicate you must remember the 80/20 rule.

20% percent of any organization will do 80% percent of the work. You simply need to identify how serious a person is, what they want to accomplish. Not by what they say, but what there actions show you. Show by action and just by words.

5. Don’t push people, duplicate.

There is a difference in leadership and pushing. You can push your car and it will got exactly where you push it, or at least as long as you can push it with out running out of energy. But wouldn’t it be so much easier to use start it up and drive it? Often as entrepreneurs we try to push our businesses around. We could simply get inside it turn on the engine and use the tools that are in place. Leadership means we are working diligently and letting our actions do most of our speaking. The problem is most people talk twice as much as they work. We have the opportunity to have much better results if we simply get to work, and never ever ask others to do what we are not willing to do ourselves. Don’t do what works, do what duplicates, and teach others how to duplicate.

As I have learned how to duplicate in my career and life,and how to teach others to duplicate.  I have found that I had to go through stages sometimes multiple times.  Don’t be afraid to learn and don’t be afraid to learn from people who you did not expect to learn from.  Remember the life blood of any organization is the new blood if you are not growing you are dying.

With todays economy and so many issues, owning your own business is one of the top ways of making money.  But owning your business does not mean you will for sure make money.  The competition is very high.  And lots of business owners believe that is it easy to lose to your competition.  But there is always a better way to look at things.

Ways to know you are losing to your competition.

1. You are creating customers and not clients or friends 2. There is a high turn around, getting lots of one time sales, but not repeat business. 3. Lots of calls asking you how much something is with out anything more happening from the call. 4. There is no system to be in consistent communication with your clients.

I can tell you, there is way you can stop losing to your competition.

I am going to shock you with a statement that you may have never heard before.Most people think they are competing against another business, rep or person. That is not true, if you are like 99% of all businesses.Your are losing to your competition and your competition is YOU!

But you can stop losing to your competition, you can also stop being your competition. I will take it even further, you can become the business to compete against.

Its time to become  the business to beat.  But that takes systematic action and new ways of thinking.

Most businesses will never change what they do and they will continue on the path they have started, with little to no results.

Its time to change, its time for you to become the business to beat; and stop losing to your competition. 

Do you really want to stop losing to your competition?

1.Customer service is not something  you do, its who you are.

Are you trying to serve others when service is not a part of your heart?  It will come across phony.  It takes more than asking the right questions to stop losing to your competition.  It takes becoming a person who cares about others, want to serve others and is not just looking to get that sell.  What ever is you heart will eventually spill out of your mouth. (I could almost stop at this statement and be done with this blog.)

2. Stop being more interested in what other businesses are doing and start creating the character that your business will portray. Stop looking at what other businesses are  or are not doing.   Its time to create a storm of action, bless as many people with your services or products  as you can.  Don’t react, act!  Remember you are the business to compete with.  The more remember that the sooner you become the business to beat! 3.Remember , you are a business person, not in sales.

Are you too short sighted? Are you so focused on getting today’s sale, that you are giving up long term relationships and business?  Being in business is not simply getting a one time sale.  I find people who are too short sited run themselves out of business.  They truly are there own competition.

4. Change the way busy work is done.

We all know there is busy work to be done, those things that does not generate business or help anyone but you or maybe the government.  Out source that or do it when there is no way of working with clients.

5. Never forget why you got started in the business, if you do.  Stop doing it. 6. Put principle and purpose above ego and economics

Happy New Years, This is my first post on my new blog. I am excited to see what I learn through out this journey.

I can not believe its already 2012, can you? It feels like it was just yesterday, in the blazing heat of 2011!At least here in Texas it was. Fortunately that is gone and today is an amazing 70 out side! I could live with this weather everyday,

But its New Years Day…. AGAIN!

Will me make this one count? Will it be the New Years that we look back on and say. That is the one that I actually did something I said I was going to do??? Will my New Years Resolutions stick?

What are  your New Years Resolutions?

Are you committed to seeing them through?

Did you do a evaluation of last years resolutions and results?

The problem with News Years Resolutions are that …

people think more of them as tradition than something that can change your life.

most of the time most resolutions are made with out a committment to see them through.

they don’t last! 60% of resolutions are given up on with in the first month, 90% are given up on with in the first 90 days, around 2% of resolutions are seen to the finish.

But that does not mean you can not be part of the the 2% that persist. Who you are, your character does not change just because its New Years. Are you committed to changing the way you do things? If you are its time to change the way you think  and operate.

1. What is time? Time is simply a gauge in which we show the passing of our lives? The Celebration should be held because goals accomplished and relationships renewed not due to time simply passing.
2. Is this the right goal for my life? Do I really want to do this? How will this effect my relationships with others around me and with my God? Pray!
3. Am I committed to doing this? Am I willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish this? Will I pick myself up and start up again when I mess up?
4. How will I hold myself accountable to my resolution? Is there a support group that I can put in place? Do I need to put more of the right people into my life?
5. What will feel like when I have….? Put a picture on your mirror or someplace you look at daily That reminds you of the feeling you will have when you did what your setting out to do! Look at it often!

 This New Years can be the  start of new era in all of our lives, an era of successful thinking leading to successful actions and ultimately successful living.

Will the New Years of  2012 be a continuation of 2011 with just a new title or Is 2012 going to be the start of new era in our lives?

Typically people keep doing the same things unless something like pain makes them change.

Change is hard but often it is worth it! Will you change?  Will it be worth it?
